Every thunder cloud that came was one more I might not get through

[Like the Rain-Clint Black]

tonight i did something i havent done in a long time. i sat outside during a thunderstorm. it was nice. i just sat on the front porch and watched the lightning and listened to the thunder. and every once and a while, a wild rain drop would fly in and hit me. i used to love thunderstorms when i was younger. i loved to sit outside and watch them, or play in the rain, and after i would go out and splash in the puddles and walk barefoot through the wet grass. but something happened over the years. now i am terribly scared of thunderstorms. i am afraid that every single thunderstorm is gonna turn into a raging tornado that will destroy everything. and i dont know what happened. like i said, i used to love thunderstorms. now, every time a storm blows in, i tense up and panic. i have no idea what happened over the years. its not like anything ever happened to make me afraid. but i am. except tonight. well, i was worried at first. they were predicting bad storms and it started out a little rough. but then it calmed down, and all i wanted to do was go outside and watch the storm like i used to. so i did. maybe im on my way to conquering my silly, irrational fear.
