I watch the ripples change their size but never leave the stream

[Changes-David Bowie]

obama won. first off, congrats to the new president and good luck in fixing the mess. i cant say that i am particularly happy about the outcome, but what can i say? im not gonna be a sore loser about it. i had a choice and i had the power to make my choice known by voting. i excercised that power. as did many other people. and through the democratic process of voting a president was chosen. so now the best thing to do is just to accept it and move on. i truly hope he can fix the country's problems. do i think he can? eh. maybe. itll help that both the president and congress majority are democrats. but really, our system is designed so that its very difficult to change things majorly in a timely fashion. also, i believe that people have unrealistic expectations for our president-elect. its like they expect him to walk into office in january and fix everything in a week tops. well, heres the thing. it took us ten years to get into this mess; he will not fix it overnight. i hope people do not become disenchanted with their new leader.

however, i would just like to say: PEOPLE, CALM DOWN. yes, i realize this is making history and all that. but it is just a presidential election. we do this every four years. so, to the people screeching in the union: CALM DOWN. to the couple furiously making out in the dining room after the announcment of his election: SIMMER DOWN. to the large group of people doing the can-can on the side of the road: KNOCK IT OFF. you all look retarded. and im not saying this as a "im mad my candidate didnt win" person. im saying this as a "im a sane and rational individual" person. seriously folks. tone it down.

well, whatever happens, itll be interesting. thats fersure.

I agree. I think its funny that he is already being criticized. I feel like we should let him fuck up before we criticize him. In the mean time we can criticize bush.
